This is the frequently asked question by many people when they delete (shift + delete) files accidentally or knowingly from the system. When a file is deleted from system only linking reference to the FAT (File Allocation Table) is deleted but not the physical bytes of the file itself. This means that the space occupied by the file is made available to be overwritten by other data. So, until this space is over written by the other data, deleted file is available in the hard disk.
